Job Summary
Drive a flatbed truck with semi-trailer combination to transport bagged concrete and masonry mixes on pallets to various customer locations, and jobsites. Payloads may consist of various commodities, may be mixed, and may have several drops/stops per load, may also consist of varied types of product. Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely. Consistent and reliable attendance is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Daily perform a pre and post-trip safety check on equipment and the truck to assure a safe vehicle. Document any maintenance that may be required per company policy. Be responsible for maintaining service intervals for power unit and trailer. Maintain log sheet and fuel records (and other paperwork) to maintain compliance with government regulations.
Be responsible for paperwork, i.e. be sure all shipping bills are turned in to plant personnel and/or dispatch accurately and in a timely fashion as required by company policy and regulations.
Must be able to safely operate truck and trailer combination. May be required to hook and unhook the trailer from the truck occasionally.
Place truck in position to load at U-Mix plant, and at Reimers-Kaufman or other vendors as required. Follow guidelines and instructions by plant or yard crews. Responsible for strapping, &/or securing trailer in designated and safe manner.
Drive truck to designated location or jobsite site for unloading.
Must be able to cooperate with dispatch regarding starting times, variable workload and shift ending times, while maintaining compliance with DOT regulations.
Assist with other duties such as light maintenance and/or housekeeping duties as needed.
