Technologist, Technical Service, CATALYST\xc2\xae Program

Ingredion is seeking a Technical Service Technologist to support the CATALYST\xc2\xae program in the US/Canada region via new product development and the creation of customer valued solutions. The CATALYST\xc2\xae program is a holistic product development service model that focuses on translating customer ideas into tangible, market ready products. Utilizing Ingredion\xe2\x80\x99s Idea Labs capabilities, the technologist will execute on customer requests for go-to-market ready, finished good formulations. Projects will span a wide variety of food product categories and all phases of product development, from initial ideation to commercial launch.

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support and expertise to CATALYST\xc2\xae customers for a broad range of food & beverage applications through new product development and the creation of customer valued solutions.
• Create, develop, and prepare food formulations on the lab benchtop and in the Food Pilot Plant utilizing Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Work with direct manager, Technical Service team and other internal subject matter experts to identify formulation challenges, solve problems and develop new, innovative ideas.
• Work with direct manager to prioritize and manage multiple customer projects with overlapping deadlines.
• Perform research related duties as needed, execute on analytical testing, as well as document and prepare technical reports with guidance from manager.
• Effectively communicate project results and updates through written reports and/or presentations to customers.
• Learn, utilize, and strengthen understanding of the function of our products and how they interact with other ingredients in a range of applications.

Qualified Candidates will have:

• B.S or B.A. in Food Science/ Food Engineering/Culinary Arts with 2+ years of relevant industry experience or internships
• Basic understanding of common food applications/processes, food ingredient functionality and ingredient interactions
• Willingness to formulate products across a wide range of food categories
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills required for food formulations development, optimization, and troubleshooting
• Excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to write comprehensive technical reports and deliver technical presentations.
• Previous experience working with dairy/alternative dairy and/or dressings & sauces highly desired
• Ability to deal well with ambiguity and embrace a dynamic work environment
• Customer focused mindset, proven people skills, self-motivation and focus on results
• Excellent planning skills, highly organized, detail oriented and can multi-task
• Team player who can work cross functionally with global applications, sales, quality, regulatory, etc.
• Prior customer experience is a plus
• Ability to travel up to 15-20% domestically
