Schedule

Hours: 3:30 pm - 12 am, Monday Friday (sometimes up to 2 am)

The Engineering Technician is directly responsible for supporting production assembly processes in the Telamon Industrial Solutions Group. This group provides customers with modular/sub-assemblies and kitting projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the day-to-day operations of the production floor focused on finished assembly processes, including troubleshooting assembly issues such as component fit, leak test or other potential quality problems
  • Develop an intimate knowledge of our products
  • Act as the first line of troubleshooting for quality and process issues
  • Assist with the implementation of quality procedures and error proofing
  • Implement process and quality improvements
  • Identify and implement cost savings projects
  • Perform quality and process audits
  • Assist in the development of quality and process documents
  • Performing calibration of equipment used in the assembly operations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Strong organizational skills including multi-tasking
  • Ability to identify improvement opportunities and provide solutions
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers, peers, management, manufacturing personnel, and both technical and non-technical people
  • Use of Microsoft Office programs, skilled at use of Excel
  • Ability to troubleshoot through the use Allen Bradley PLC\'s
  • Ability to read and comprehend prints
  • Knowledge of machines, tools, including their design, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Problem solving ability
  • Self-Starter and team player
  • Ability to work in a diverse work environment
Education and Experience Required:
  • Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 2-5 years\' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in automotive supply chain preferred
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts preferred
  • Experience with the creation of Process Flow Charts, Control Plans, and FMEA\'s
