C & B Equipment, a progressive family-owned company that has grown over 30 years to include John Deere Ag, material handling and power sports locations, has an opening for a Technical Communicator. This individual will telephonically help service technicians resolve critical product problems by assisting with diagnosis and repair issues. They will also share best practices among all servicing locations and provide in-person training to improve service technician diagnostic and repair abilities. This individual may live near any of our South Dakota, Minnesota or Iowa ag store locations.

Essential Duties:

  • Resource for Technicians, Service Managers and Parts Leads to help resolve critical product problems by assisting in diagnosis and repair and sharing of best practices
  • Coordinates CCMS cases between Technicians and John Deere CCMS factory support as needed. Ensures all necessary information is documented within the case (or equivalent platform) prior to submission to John Deere
  • Monitors and analyzes machine dashboard information to identify and deliver service and parts opportunities to frontline personnel
  • Identifies, communicates and executes continuous process improvements in Service and Parts departments to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction
  • Maintains up to date technical knowledge of relevant OEM engine, drivetrain, hydraulics, and electrical systems and repair manual schematics
  • Establishes and maintains wide variety of up to date product knowledge
  • Assists in identifying Technical training needs and conducts training in our apprenticeship, Certified Dealer Instructor offerings and new product launches
  • Able to work independently, stay organized and manage multiple cases at once while maintaining a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources
  • Accepts regular overnight travel to develop skills or train/support others
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated advanced experience in service department operations; demonstrated experience consistently meeting performance metrics preferred
  • Experience with basic computer functions (Microsoft Office Suite) and related software platforms; experience using Service ADVISOR\xe2\x84\xa2, Parts ADVISOR\xe2\x84\xa2, or other computer based diagnostic repair tools preferred
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Previous experience in training and/or presenting information in clinics or live training events preferred
  • Display a willingness to deliver hands on training in front of a live or virtual audience
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferred
  • Multi-tasker with proven history of thriving in a variety of challenging environments.
  • Overnight travel may be required for training events
  • Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and a safe driving record
