JOB SUMMARY:
The Workforce Education Data Systems (WEDS) office is seeking an individual to serve in a full-time position as a Systems Project Consultant. The individual selected for this position will maintain, support and enhance existing applications, databases and reports, with opportunities to participate in data analysis and technical design projects.

The ideal candidate for this position has knowledge of SAS programming and the ability to write complex SQL queries. The incumbent maintains and runs database queries, creates reports, analyzes data, assures completeness and accuracy of the system\'s design, programming, implementation and enhances current databases structures and procedures. The applicant must be able to develop work products from concept to completion, analyze data and implement bureau initiatives through interagency communication and district level customer support.

EXAMPLES OF WORK:

  • Serves as primary point person on postsecondary vocational and adult general education reporting issues.
  • Produces programs, reports, data and analyses required for career education funding issues.
  • Maintains final/supporting documentation of reports/data/analyses.
  • Designs, produces and maintains standard and ad hoc reports as requested.
  • Assists with the analysis and verification of data reported by districts to the bureau.
  • Assists with the continuous review of data element definitions, formats, edits and related documentation.
  • Maintains appropriate documentation.
  • Maintains positive customer/work relationships with customers and vendors through effective personal and written communication and technical assistance and guidance.
  • Presents to local groups of staff and administrators at workshops and regional meetings.
  • Provide technical assistance to local providers on data collection and data analysis regarding Perkins, Adult Education programs, services and activities.
  • Maintains and improves personal effectiveness by delivering quality and timely products and services; adapting to changing priorities, demands and expectations; and acquiring and applying new skills and knowledge.
  • The employee must be productive under tight timeframes, balance multiple and competing priorities and maintain goal-directed behavior and performance sometimes under stressful conditions.
  • The employee must interact courteously with others.
  • The employee\'s performance and behavior must demonstrate consideration of the workload concerns of others and must not negatively affect productivity and morale of the unit.

  • Perform other duties as required and assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Experienced in SAS programming or other programming languages, SQL Server Reporting Services, or other structures report writer software.
  • Experienced in writing SQL queries and stored procedures on Microsoft SQL server 2008-2017.

POSITION LOCATION:
This position is located at our headquarter location at 325 West Gaines Street, Tallahassee, FL 32399.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENTS:
