SVP, Chief Marketing Officer Based in Greenwood Village, Colorado, and reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, GJ Hart, the Chief Marketing Officer, is responsible for providing leadership and oversight on the company\xe2\x80\x99s overall brand strategy (traditional and digital), market research, consumer insights, advertising, menu production, loyalty program leadership, guest relations, supporting culinary/R&D, public relations, pricing, and sales approach. The successful candidate will work closely with the RRGB Executive Team, Operations Executives, Restaurant Managing Partners, and Finance to maximize the growth, development and return on investment of the portfolio today and in the future. leads all brand marketing activity (traditional and digital), field marketing strategy, in-restaurant merchandising including menu production, one-to-one guest marketing, loyalty program leadership, consumer insights, guest relations and public relations. The Chief Marketing Officer will serve as thought-leader in new and emerging media, the use of content and the power of data to reach both current and potential customers, including multi-cultural audiences. With a focus on enterprise value, s/he will provide input on tactics that leverage all available communication mediums to drive both brand awareness and growth. She/he will synthesize guest and competitor insights along with business and market intelligence to identify the most profitable business opportunities. She/he will be responsible for driving P&L outcomes with value-based pricing, demand generation, digital marketing, and program launch excellence informed by the market and a deep knowledge of our guests. The CMO will guide a range of marketing tactics to cultivate Red Robin\xe2\x80\x99s competitive position and ensure financial performance for shareholders. By effectively leading a team of marketing professionals this individual will build a compelling brand image for Red Robin and help position the company as one of the best casual dining brands in our industry. Responsibilities:

  • Foster and build a marketing function that supports the company\xe2\x80\x99s high-performance, high-creativity, and fast paced environment.
  • Provide leadership to a team of marketing professionals, focused on achieving key business outcomes

    • Provide effective coaching and guidance to build mature marketing competencies across the group
    • Develop marketing function talent management and career pathing approach to nurture the collective skill sets across the department
  • Become an integral player in the design, development, and implementation of the company business strategy.
    • Offer key competitive insights to determine the company\xe2\x80\x99s position in the market
    • Provide innovative ideas on how the company can capture market share
    • Instill a growth mindset that becomes a staple across all strategic conversations
    • Identify and evaluate inorganic growth strategies including acquisitions, alliances, licensing, and partnerships linked to the strategic plan
  • Oversee all branding activity for the company and identify other key branding opportunities to generate revenue
  • Drive a culture of innovation through the identification of guest interests and market problems to be solved
  • Lead the development of materials to effectively present company strategy and related initiatives, performance trends, business cases and financial projections to Executive Team, Board of Directors, lenders, and shareholders
  • Direct overall marketing strategy through partnerships with key business stakeholders. Conduct market research guest behaviors and expectations, and apply strategically to business growth opportunities
  • Develop effective marketing plans across diverse revenue channels to ensure optimal performance and delivery on our commitments
  • Instill Voice of Customer (VOC) discipline across the company to ensure that investments are aligned to real customer needs
  • Drive guest behavior analyses, assessment, and rationalization to identify revenue and growth plans by channel (dine-in, catering, off premise)
  • Nurture and leverage a growing customer loyalty program of over 11M
  • Collaborates with leadership to build the business case analyses for the Company\'s key initiatives
  • Develop and implement KPIs to track and increase effectiveness of marketing operations
  • Build the annual marketing plan & budget and manage period by period execution
  • Support menu development and deployment, to include innovation of new menu offerings and on-going validation of core menu offerings based on guest and financial considerations
  • Partner effectively with Operations to ensure seamless execution of new menu items
  • Lead organizational thinking of concept evolution, to include menu and dining experience
  • Maximize lifetime customer value by managing the guest experience across all guest touchpoints: Guest Surveys, Social sharing, e-mail, Phone, and In-Restaurant feedback, maximizing insights to all guest feedback and corresponding guest recovery and retention strategies
  • Collaborate and interact with marketing leaders, internal creative personnel, and external agency partners to align the Red Robin Loyalty program:
  • Differentiate and enhance the core brand equities across all customer touchpoints, and all relevant channels, both offline and digital
  • Assess loyalty efforts to ensure objectives and strategies still resonate, and refine and course correct vision/mission, goals, and objectives, where necessary
  • Oversee all messaging disseminated via news channels, press releases, and other non-purchased media outlets
  • Lead the corporate communications function including external communications, internal communications, community engagement, and corporate social responsibility strategies and execution
  • Build and deploy campaigns to bring raise the awareness across our guest population of the offerings we provide
  • Develops ideas and execution plans for new business initiatives that will increase profitability of the Company
  • Attend industry events and conferences to grow the company\xe2\x80\x99s visibility in the marketplace and enhance profitability.
  • Successfully launch of new entr\xc3\xa9e promotions, ensuring appropriate marketing collateral, training and launch events are developed for our guests
  • Work with Managing Partners to gain insights on guest behaviors and feedback. Use this information to enhance the effectiveness of our marketing plans

The ideal candidate possesses:
  • A minimum of 15 or more years of strategic and proactive senior management experience, preferably for a publicly traded company with experience in a role requiring the development and execution of company-level strategy in a restaurant, hospitality, retail, or consumer facing business
  • Ability to create and execute a strategic marketing plan in close partnership with business stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience across all media platforms including paid, owned, and earned, in addition to expertise leading a multichannel media approach incorporating latest trends in media use for TV, print, social/digital, and multi-cultural opportunities with comprehensive knowledge of the media buying landscape including awareness of current pricing and pricing models
  • Previous experience preparing and managing budgets to demonstrate return on investment
  • Ability to build and develop a high performing team
