Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sushi Chef to join our team. The Sushi Chef will prepare high-quality sushi and Japanese dishes while maintaining strict standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety. Experience is preferred but not required, as on-the-job training will be provided for the right candidate who is eager to learn and committed to maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare sushi, sashimi, rolls, and other Japanese dishes according to recipes and training guidelines Handle, prepare, and store food in compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations Maintain a clean and organized workstation at all times, including cleaning knives, cutting boards, and equipment Follow proper personal hygiene practices, including handwashing and use of gloves when required Check ingredients for freshness and quality before use Properly store raw fish and ingredients to prevent cross-contamination Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely order preparation Follow all health department, safety, and restaurant policies

Qualifications:

Sushi or kitchen experience preferred but not required (training will be provided) Willingness to learn sushi preparation techniques and knife skills Strong understanding or willingness to learn food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills Food Handler's Certification (preferred or willing to obtain)

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift and carry kitchen items as needed
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
