Responsibilities



Prepare a variety of sushi and sashimi with impeccable knife skills, ensuring each piece is visually appealing and perfectly balanced in flavor. Develop and execute innovative sushi menu items that align with culinary trends and customer preferences. Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards throughout all food handling and preparation processes. Manage ingredient inventory, ensuring freshness and proper storage of seafood, rice, vegetables, and other sushi components. Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service during busy hours. Uphold high standards of cleanliness in the sushi station, including equipment sanitation and workspace organization. Assist in training junior kitchen staff or dietary aides on sushi preparation techniques and food safety protocols. Participate in catering events or special dining occasions, delivering exceptional presentation and service. Follow all restaurant policies related to food handling, allergy awareness, and dietary restrictions to ensure guest safety.

Qualifications



Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role within fine dining or Japanese cuisine environments. Strong knife skills with the ability to prepare fish, vegetables, and rice efficiently and precisely. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for seafood handling. Experience with menu planning, food preparation, cooking techniques, and food service operations. Background in the food industry or restaurant experience that demonstrates adaptability in a fast-paced setting. Familiarity with catering services and serving large groups is a plus. Excellent attention to detail, creativity, and passion for delivering high-quality dishes. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure. Pay: $22.65 - $27.28 per hour
