We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese cuisine, exceptional knife skills, and a dedication to food safety and presentation. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi dishes, maintaining a clean and organized workstation, and ensuring an authentic dining experience for our guests. Duties



Prepare and assemble sushi dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards Ensure all food handling and preparation adhere to food safety regulations Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the sushi station and kitchen area Assist in menu planning and develop new sushi offerings to enhance customer experience Monitor ingredient freshness and manage inventory levels for sushi ingredients Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure timely service during peak hours Demonstrate excellent knife skills for precise slicing of fish, vegetables, and other ingredients Uphold high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation at all times Follow dietary guidelines and accommodate special dietary requests when necessary

Experience



Proven culinary experience in fine dining or restaurant settings, with specific expertise in Japanese cuisine preferred Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food service operations Experience with food handling, safety protocols, and kitchen sanitation practices Knowledge of menu planning, catering, and meal preparation techniques Prior experience as a dietary aide or in the dietary department is a plus but not required Familiarity with food industry standards related to sushi making, including knife skills and ingredient sourcing Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 35 per week
