Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a deep understanding of sushi-making techniques. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that delight our customers while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and presentation.

Duties

Prepare and assemble sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and creativity. Ensure all ingredients are fresh and properly stored, adhering to food safety regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including proper food handling practices. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and high-quality food output. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate needs to management. Stay updated on current trends in sushi preparation and presentation to enhance the menu offerings. Assist in training junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and kitchen protocols.

Experience

Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the restaurant or food industry is preferred. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, particularly in sushi-making, knife skills, and culinary arts. Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools used in sushi preparation. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
