We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese cuisine, particularly sushi preparation, and possess excellent knife skills and food safety knowledge. Primary responsibilities will involve rolling, with sashimi and nigiri experience a plus.
There are significant opportunities for additional responsibilities and expansion given the ideal skill set.
Responsibilities
Ability to operate independently while preparing and assembling sushi dishes, adhering to traditional techniques and presentation standards.
Ensure all food handling and preparation complies with food safety regulations and sanitation standards
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, including proper storage of ingredients
Uphold our reputation for quality and presentation by consistently delivering exceptional dishes
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within a fine dining or Japanese cuisine setting
Strong culinary experience with expertise in food preparation, cooking, and food handling
Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various sushi techniques
Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices in a professional kitchen
Prior restaurant experience in the food industry is highly desirable
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Strong communication skills and team-oriented attitude
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
