Responsibilities
Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and artistry.
Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene in all food handling and preparation processes.
Plan menus that balance traditional techniques with innovative flavors to excite our guests.
Ensure consistent quality by following recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines.
Manage ingredient inventory, monitor freshness, and coordinate with suppliers for timely deliveries.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow during busy hours.
Uphold all food industry regulations and safety protocols while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant or fine dining setting.
Strong knife skills and expertise in food preparation techniques specific to sushi and Japanese cuisine.
Knowledge of food safety standards, handling procedures, and sanitation practices.
Experience with menu planning, catering, and meal preparation in a high-volume environment.
Background in dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus but not required.
