Summary of Job Duties: Closed posting for Preselected Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP) Science Students Summer

SURP Student Intern, UAMS Graduate School:
The SURP Student Intern is an undergraduate student that has been accepted to the 9-week NIH-funded summer research program titled the UAMS Summer Undergraduate Research Program to Increase Diversity in Research.

Supervision:
During the 9 week summer program, each SURP Student Intern will be assigned a UAMS research faculty mentor who will work with them on a summer research project. The students will also attend required weekly seminars. The Graduate School Associate Dean will manage the program overall as well as monitor their weekly time.

Qualifications:

Will only select applicants who were pre-selected through discussions with the UAMS Graduate School Associate Dean, Latrina Price.

Minimum Qualifications and Additional Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident

Student must be currently enrolled in an accredited U.S. institution

Student must have completed at least one full year of undergraduate studies and have a minimum overall GPA of 2.5

Student must be available to work 34 \xe2\x80\x9334.5 hours each week during the 9 weeks of the program

Student must arrange for transportation to and from UAMS during work hours as required
