Position Overview Align is seeking a Junior Project Manager in our New York office who will work with a great team and have the opportunity to learn and quickly grow into a Senior Project Manager. Candidates must be familiar with IT Physical Layer Build Out, with a good understanding of Structured Cabling / Low Voltage Cabling (LVC) design and installation. Our Workplace Technology Solution provides IT Transformation, Advisory and Integrations services. We bridge the gap between IT and physical infrastructure design and construction. Our work encompasses low voltage cable design AV design and integration services, physical security design, and advisory, design, integration and support for data networking / WiFi, Microsoft Systems, and collaboration. Our project management team underpins these offerings and serves at the primary interface with our clients. This is an ideal opportunity for a junior project manager with 1 to 4 years of experience managing structured cabling, IT relocation / restacks, or office technology build outs. You will have the opportunity to broaden your skills in various Workplace Technologies and enhance your project management skills. A hands on structured cabling project manager that is aspiring to expand into more of a well rounded senior project management, would be a good fit for this role.

This person will:

  • Help manage digital workplace or workplace technology projects through all aspects of project delivery including technology relocation and new office IT infrastructure design and build-out
  • Possess strong communication and organizational skills are required
  • Be service delivery focused and help grow client relationships
The primary responsibility is working with senior project managers to manage the successful delivery of Workplace Technology solutions. We seek an energetic professional who is motivated to learn. Some low voltage cable design (LVC) experience is required. Qualified candidates should be familiar with some of the following: workplace design and construction; trading floor technologies; collaboration tools; AV system design and implementation; physical security; and/or smart office systems. The position is hands on, with the ideal candidate providing active leadership on enterprise and SMB transformation projects.
  • The Junior Project Manager will be based in our New York City office; however, this person will be required to travel to and work at client locations in the New York Metropolitan area and occasional travel (up to 10 percent) may be required

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for learning and working alongside Senior Project Managers on all levels of an engagement, including proposal development, client administration, resourcing, adherence to profit margin outlined as part of the proposal, risk management through program/project delivery and supervisory oversight of delivery team
  • Act as technology representative at client construction meetings as well as internal project team affiliates including IT and Facilities, etc.
  • Work with Align SMEs to provide consulting and project leadership to our clients regarding all aspects of workplace technology, including audiovisual (AV) systems, workplace management solutions, smart office environmental controls, digital signage and IP television, and a large variety of other technologies
  • Leverage Align\xe2\x80\x99s toolset to engage clients and deliver against defined scopes
  • Collaboratively develop client business requirements, formulate solutions, develop business case justifications, provide cost/benefit analysis, communicate risks/benefits clearly and expertly manage client expectations throughout the project life cycle while ensuring profitable engagement
  • Contribute to senior management-level presentations to our clients
  • Learn to manage overall engagement profitability, revenue, margins, utilization goals, pricing, and contract administration
  • Work with senior project manager(s) to administer and document project work: Scope, charter, project plans, meeting agendas and minutes, RAID logs, and other project tools
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in business administration or an IT-related field required
  • 1 to 4 years of relevant Workplace IT project experience managing projects focused workplace technology implementation and large IT relocation projects, including design, implementation, user relocation
  • Experience with IT workplace technology projects such as physical layer design, structured cabling, IT construction project management, cabling infrastructure, AV integration, physical security, end user relocation and new office build-out
  • Any experience with white boarding, solution development, or proposal writing would be a plus
  • Prior professional services or consulting experience would be a plus, but is not required
  • Excellent conceptualization, articulation, presentation and facilitation skills are required
  • Should be knowledgeable in some of the following areas: workplace design and construction; low voltage cabling; technology collaboration tools; BYOD tools and techniques; workplace architecture and construction; audiovisual system design and implementation; telepresence platforms and smart office system
