PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Support a Principal or Senior Project Manager with the management of Information technology projects consisting of cross-functional teams that can involve multiple IT disciplines including contract resources. Responsible for supporting the management of project\'s scope, schedule, budget, of multiple IT projects. Supports project teams through business case, funding approval process, initiation, execution and project closeout in accordance with IT Management Model and PMI standards. Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24/7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

Candidate will be required to travel up to 25% (one week per month), and up to 100% during system cutover.

This position will support the execution of deployment readiness and cutover activities for Project Apollo, a multi-year program to deliver an integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system that will transform Exelon\xe2\x80\x99s ability to conduct its operations and serve customers by empowering our workforce through leading and simplified business processes, a more integrated systems platform, and an enhanced employee/user experience.

The key objectives expected from Project Apollo include the following:

  • Standardized and simplified business processes that enable more efficient and effective execution of work activities in support of the business.
  • Implementation of an integrated, fully supported and updated Finance, Accounts Payable and Supplier Management technology platform that will enable automation, an improved user experience, and the replacement of the Exelon Utilities aging Work Planning & Tracking (WPT) application.
  • Reduction in the number and complexity of applications and system interfaces, Cost savings and labor efficiencies through process automation, standardization and simplification.
  • A scalable technology platform that enables more efficient and cost-effective merger integrations and asset acquisitions.
  • Reduction in the number of key financial controls and enablement of automated controls to reduce risk and audit fees.
  • Increased and more timely transparency into data and insights for analysis and decision making.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Responsible for supporting overall project and program performance for projects, subprojects, processes, new technology programs, information technology and organizational initiatives (50%)
  • Ensures project / program costs, schedule, scope and risks are managed, including the development of recovery plans, to stay within approved limits schedule and spending. (20%)
  • Interface with external and internal stakeholders to coordinate project requirements. (20%)
  • Interface effectively forming good working relationships with team members, line managers, internal interfacing organizations and contract service providers as applicable. (10%)
JOB SCOPE

The Project Manager is an individual contributor accountable for supporting projects with estimated costs typically up to $5M. In this role the project manager will actively support a Principal or Senior Project Managers team performance, scope, budget and schedule within approved parameters and providing structured and detailed reports to the appropriate Management team. Tasks include but are not limited to, ensuring the completion of business cases, budgetary approvals, project scheduling, design and engineering tasks, vegetation management reviews, project reporting, project financial analysis, major equipment procurement, environmental analysis, obtaining real estate and relationship management with external customers, vendors, state and local agencies, and regulatory agencies. Interacts routinely with key internal and external stakeholders including senior management, the \' customers, and governmental and regulatory officials.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor\'s degree Project Management, Informational Systems or Computer Science or related discipline and 2 - 5 years project management or related experience
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus, establish trust, communicate effectively and foster culture change
  • Ability to work independently and as a team leader including the ability to handle conflicting priorities in a multi-task environment
  • Demonstrated leadership, communications and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement process enhancements and efficiencies including technology and performance
  • Demonstrated strong judgment and time management skills
  • Demonstrated project management skills, writing skills and PC skills including Work, Excel, Access, Power Point, Project
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience or knowledge of the specific functional area or discipline (e.g., Real Time Systems, Finance, Supply, HR or other Nuclear, Utility, Commercial Retail or Corporate functional areas)
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Demonstrated proficiency and experience managing projects
  • Understanding of job budgeting, costing and performance metrics reporting
