The Michigan State Lottery strives to maximize net revenues to supplement state education programs; to provide fun and entertaining games of chance, and to operate all games and bureau functions with nothing less than total integrity.

The Lottery was established under the authority of Public Act 239 of 1972 to generate funds to support Michigan\xe2\x80\x99s public-school system and generates revenue through the sale of Lottery tickets at retail locations and over the internet. Profits from lottery revenue are used to supplement state education programs.

Responsible for directly managing staff that is responsible for the development, planning and oversight of the highly complex digital applications that include but are not limited to websites, mobile apps, periodic digital promotion sites, and other digital platforms, including digital payment programs to maximize revenues for the school aid fund. This position will
require the ability to manage the business relationships with current vendor partners and serve as the Lottery representative for multiple development partners. This position will review and liaise contracts between digital gaming and compliance teams, while also managing resources, assignments, policies, and procedures that adhere to the mission and
goals of the Bureau. Hires, evaluates, and develops staff members in an effective manner.

Required Education and Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelor\'s degree in any major.

Experience
Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
Alternate Education and Experience
Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or, one year of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.
Additional Requirements and Information
Lottery employees and family members residing within the same household are prohibited from purchasing lottery tickets and from participating as a worker in charitable gaming events licensed by the bureau (i.e., bingo, raffle, etc.).

To be considered for this position, you must submit to the following initial background check requirement(s). In accordance with Civil Service Regulation 2.07, you may be sanctioned from applying to positions with the State of Michigan, permanently or up to (3) three years, should you fail to pass/submit to the pre-employment drug test. Under Civil Service Regulation 3.06, you may be sanctioned from applying to positions with the State of Michigan, if you make any false statements or omissions of a material fact during the selection process. Civil Service Rule 2-7 requires that all persons who are not currently state employees submit to and pass a pre-employment drug test. This urine sample test must be administered within 24 hours or your offer may be rescinded. An applicant must remain at the testing site until the testing process is completed and permitted up to 3 hours to provide a sufficient specimen. It is considered a refusal to test if an applicant fails to provide a sufficient amount of urine for a drug test within the allowed time.

Based on operational needs, remote work and alternative work schedule requests for this position may be considered. The Michigan State Lottery\xe2\x80\x99s (MSL) main office is located at 101 East Hillsdale, Lansing, MI, however, MSL has a satellite office in Lansing and offices located around the state. Not all MSL positions have the capability to work remotely due to the nature of the position. For positions approved to work remotely, MSL requires a minimum of two in-office days each week. Periodic onsite teamwork, collaboration, and communication with peers and leaders is required for all positions and is essential to the position\'s success and MSL\xe2\x80\x99s mission and values. Selected candidates approved to work remotely, or a hybrid schedule (combination of remote and in-office), must complete that work within Michigan. Remote work will be determined by management and is not an entitlement. Employees will be provided computers and other essential items necessary to perform state work. Employees working remotely will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense, including:

A secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions.
A high-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
Suitable lighting, furniture, and utilities.

Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview. Positions within the Bureau of State Lottery will require a criminal history background check.

Vacation and Sick Leave: Eligible full-time employees receive between 15 and 35 personal days and 13 sick days per year that may be rolled over to the following year if not used. Eligible employees also receive an additional day each year for community service or school functions.

Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leave immediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.

Paid Holidays: Eligible employees receive 13 or 14 paid holidays each year including New Year\xe2\x80\x99s Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents\xe2\x80\x99 Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve and Day.

Bonus Programs: Eligible employees with five years of service also receive annual longevity bonuses that grow as seniority increases. Some positions also may qualify for recruitment, retention, and performance bonuses or other special pay premiums.

Military Pay Differential: Employees in the guard or reserves may also qualify for supplemental pay benefits if miliary pay during qualifying duty is less than normal state pay. Tuition Reduction: Some colleges and universities offer savings to eligible employees and family members to further their education while working for the State of Michigan.
