Duties

Chief Administrative Manager is responsible for providing support to an administrative or technical superior by: providing office coordination and managing workflow; supervising the office support staff; and directing a wide variety of support services, e.g. fleet management, human resource, records management, etc. May act as principle assistant to management in a variety of operational areas which may include: disseminating directives, preparing required reports, assisting in budget preparation and development by maintaining records and/or compiling data; performs special projects studies including needs assessments; obtaining, organizing and drafting administrative material for public information or office use; acting as liaison with vendors, state/federal representative, the public, etc. Directs day-to-day office support activities under the general direction of an administrative or technical superior. Demonstrates knowledge and use of computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and related documentation procedures. Initiates work orders. This is a multifaceted class which may include responsibility for supervising directly or through subordinate lead personnel, clerical activities and efficient operation of the office.

Plans, proposes and implements approved work, training and safety programs. Inspects work in progress, investigates complaints, and directs or recommends corrective actions. May prepare and revise work schedules, and monitor personnel attendance as needed. Develops budget estimates, and assists in controlling the expenditure of allocated funds. Interviews job applicants. Recommends new hires, pay raises, and other personnel actions. Subject to be on call 24/7. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Regularly attends required safety, job related and certification training classes as required.
Minimum Qualifications

1). High School Graduate or GED.

2). Bachelor Degree from an accredited college in Business Administration, Management or Accounting and two years of experience in administration or six years of experience with two years of supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

3). Valid State Vehicle Operator\'s License.



Lucas Plant Assignment - Valid Class 3 Wastewater Treatment and Wastewater Collections Certificates issued by the State of Louisiana, Dept. of Health and Hospitals is preferred but not required.


Normal Promotion Path from this Class:
Any higher class for which eligible and qualified

Physical Ability: Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station, along with some combination of climbing and balancing. Requires visual perception and discrimination. Requires ability to communicate orally. Job must be performed with or without accommodations.

Work Environment: Tasks are regularly performed in doors in an office environment. There is limited exposure to extreme weather conditions. May have normal exposure to dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature, noise and computer screen.
