Description :

The Senior Technical Accountant is responsible for technical accounting research and external reporting. This will include drafting memos on non-routine and significant transactions (i.e., Business Combinations, debt accounting, stock compensation, Impairment of Goodwill, intangible assets, etc.), preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and responsible for accounting Company\xe2\x80\x99s leases in accordance with ASC 842. This position will also coordinate with external auditors and third-party valuation firms on requests related to Audit and business combination valuations.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow and related notes) in accordance with U.S. GAAP;
  • Support external audit requests and inquiries by coordinating the completion and review of assigned audit requests and identifying, understanding, and implementing accounting policies and procedures;
  • Responsible for preparation of GAAP disclosure checklist for the financial statements;
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure the lease accounting system is updated with all new leases/modifications and review the changes;
  • Provide research on non-standard/complex accounting matters, including Business combinations, Segment Reporting, Goodwill, Leases, to determine proper accounting as per U.S. GAAP;
  • Assess and document the impact of new accounting pronouncements and help implement them across the company;
  • Drafting technical accounting memos related to complex accounting transactions, including Business Combination, Revenue Recognition, impairment of intangible assets, Derivatives, Debt accounting, and Stock Compensation;
  • Prepare Consolidated Balance Sheet and P&L flux files quarterly;
  • Responsible for coordinating and analysis of valuations prepared by external consultants related to the fair value of Goodwill by reporting units, and Business Combinations;
  • Assist in the execution of internal controls related to external reporting and technical accounting;
  • Review the actuarial reports related to pension and post-retirement benefits and prepare required disclosures for financial statements;
  • Assist in drafting/updating the Company\xe2\x80\x99s accounting policies and procedures;
  • Support the month-end closing process by preparing journal entries related to technically challenging accounting transactions such as leases, debt modification, intangible amortization, etc.;
  • Responsible for reviewing the account reconciliations for sites for high-sensitive account i.e., Warranty reserve, Asset Retirement obligations, pension, and intangible assets etc.;
  • Assist in implementing scalable solutions, including systems and processes;
  • Perform ad hoc financial analyses or projects as required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Accounting;
  • At least 3 years of experience in accounting;
  • Strong US GAAP knowledge (Technical);
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Public accounting experience preferred;
  • Proven ability to research and implement changes in accounting policies;
  • This position requires the use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR);
  • Must be a US citizen or green card holder.
