JOB DESCRIPTION

BHE GT&S has an exciting career opportunity as an Sr Accountant/Technical Accountant at our Headquarters located in Richmond, VA or White Oaks General Office located in Bridgeport, WV. Flexible work arrangements including hybrid or compressed schedules may be available and are not guaranteed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• ?Develop and implement process improvements and assist in conversion of various accounting systems.
• Work independently to resolve accounting system issues and regularly communicate issues and solutions to senior management.
• Conduct moderately complex assignments involving accounting projects and the day-to-day maintenance of a general ledger.
• Ensure appropriate accounting controls.
• Identify inconsistencies and problems and communicate them to management.
• Routinely interact with internal and external customers.

QUALIFICATIONS

Sr Accountant

• 2-4 years of general accounting experience or 1 year of experience working in public accounting
• Working knowledge of U.S. General Accounting Principles (GAAP), practices and procedures
• Strong computer skills including Excel
• Good communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
• Good analytical skills-Good organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

Technical Accountant

• 5-7 years of general accounting experience or 4+ years of public accounting experience
• Broad knowledge of U.S. General Accounting Principles (GAAP), practices and procedures
• Excellent computer skills including Excel
• Effective communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
• Excellent analytical skills
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

Education
Bachelor (Typically four years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor\'s degree.)

Preferred Degree
Accounting, Business, or Finance
