OPPORTUNITY The purpose of this position is to manage Fleet Transportation Operations at all Hydrite facilities including Hydrite\'s private fleet & dedicated carriers. As a Sr. Manager, Transportation Operations, primary responsibilities include:

  • Actively promote a safety-first culture where all employees are owners in creating a safe workplace according to Hydrite\'s safety mission, vision and values.
  • Establish and/or maintain a robust ongoing leadership development culture.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and company policies and procedures for private and dedicated fleets.
  • Counsel, consult and monitor department leaders in professionalism and business practices as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Manage fleet financial results to established targets, partner with Accounting on month-end close activities, and participate in the annual budget activities related to the fleet.
  • Maintain an environment of continuous improvement through the development and monitoring of KPIs.
  • Collaborate with the Transportation Planning Team and Site Operations to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor systems and processes to ensure they are being followed appropriately and seek opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Manage Hydrite\'s dedicated fleet providers to ensure on-site activities are safe, compliant, and efficient.
  • This position reports to the Director of Transportation.
  • Direct reports may include:
    • Fleet Compliance & Equipment Manager
    • Regional Transportation Manager(s)
  • Indirect reports may include:
    • Drivers
    • Transportation Managers and Supervisors
    • Transportation Support Coordinators
REPORTING STRUCTURE This position reports to the Director of Transportation EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL CRITERIA
  • Bachelor\'s degree required
  • 7+ years\' experience in transportation management required with private fleet management highly preferred
  • Bulk experience preferred
  • Multiple site management required
  • 3+ years managing managers required
  • Experience working with a Transportation Management System (TMS); BluJay/E2Open exposure a plus
  • Excellent analytical, communication and organizational skills required.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of MS PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Excel required. Must have proven communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Travel to branches as needed.

  • Participate in RCRA, regulatory, health & safety and process training activities as required. Review changes/additions with your supervisor.
  • 30% travel (mostly WI, IA, IL)
  • Can work from Milwaukee or Madison area.
  • Perform all duties outlined in relevant SOPs and all other duties to be assigned.
  • Work with other staff members to maintain workload balances. Provide back-up support as necessary.
  • Support effective communication with all Hydrite departments where responsibilities overlap to ensure success of the team.
