Job Summary:

The Sr. Director of Creative Services leads Vail Resorts\' in-house creative agency and is responsible for ensuring that Vail Resorts generates breakthrough and effective creative for its resort and pass brands, and executes with high efficiency through ownership of production processes and the Digital Asset Manager (DAM) and Media Asset Manager (MAM) tools. Leading with a client service mindset, the Sr. Director will work closely with internal stakeholders, external partners and vendors, and a variety of cross-functional teams - including Omni-Channel Marketing, Guest Insights, IT, Resort Brands, Epic Pass brand, and our Lines of Business to maximize effectiveness, scalability, and output.

Creative Services is comprised of 3 teams: Account Service, Creative Development, and Studio Production / Asset Management. The Sr. Director will directly manage the 3 leaders of these teams, with oversight of the full organization.

The successful candidate will be capable of leading a large team with multiple functions, transforming brand strategies into powerful creative ideas, and flexing quickly among business strategies, creative projects and technical work. S/he will have an eye for world-class, effective creative and technical talent, and will be able to connect to these diverse teams at a detailed and high level. Most importantly, the Sr. Director of Creative Services will be able to simplify the complex to ensure high-quality prioritization, decision-making, and creative problem-solving.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversee annual, quarterly and monthly planning to ensure alignment with brand and business strategies, while managing internal and external agency capacity
  • Own and manage operating expense budget
  • Maintain and optimize high impact external agency and freelance labor roster
  • Lead efficient and effective content capture standard operating procedures for the enterprise
  • Optimize CS structure to maximize capacity and effectiveness against top brand and business priorities
  • Establish and drive creative effectiveness principles and approach for the enterprise
  • Recruit, onboard and develop top talent across teams
  • Foster a team culture that generates high levels of creativity, effectiveness and efficiency
  • Maintain low-friction ways of working amongst the CS, its internal clients and internal / external partners
  • Bring in a steady stream of external inspiration to stretch the organization
  • Partner with brand leaders to establish productive relationships with external agencies and freelancers, where needed (with an eye to scope clarity and cost efficiency)
  • Ensure best-in-class briefing practices to inspire creativity, enable efficiency, and allow for agility
  • Generate clear and actionable creative strategies that drive Return On Ad Spend (ROAS)
  • Maintain high studio production and versioning quality standards
  • Oversee the continued integration of the DAM system and the implementation and integration of the MAM system, delivering on cost, automation and agility objectives
  • Oversee governance for digital asset management standards and practices, such as: digital asset classification and preservation, asset rights management, asset finishing and lifecycle
  • Ensure scalability of structure and processes for future growth
  • Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree and 10+ years\' experience in related field (Marketing, Communications)
  • 10+ years of leadership experience
  • Significant creative agency experience, with nuanced understanding of optimal agency org design and roles and responsibilities
  • Have an eye for Brand and Creative Design
  • Experience with Content Analytics & KPIs (e.g. ROI & Engagement metrics)
  • Experience implementing and/or working within a DAM, and leading an enterprise through various stages of content marketing maturity (MarTech-related implementations, content automation, AI, etc.)
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to action on insights and make strategic decisions
  • Strong learning agility. Enjoys and excels in environments where s/he must tackle and solve new and increasingly complex strategic business challenges and issues.
  • A brave, ambitious, and passionate leader with a high level of emotional intelligence, a commitment to leadership development, and a willingness to embrace change
The expected Total Compensation for this role is $162,700.00 - $197,600.00 + annual bonus + equity. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
