ob Summary: As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Outpatient Services (DOS) provides a strong commitment to service excellence, positive clinical outcomes, cost efficiency, performance enhancement and high business ethics. The DOS oversees, administers, and coordinates all activities and operations of the ambulatory services for Fall River Health Services (FRHS). Further, this position insures that the delivery and services and programs respond to the needs of patients while contributing to the financial stability of FRHS.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes Duties/Responsibilities Essential functions of position include, but are not limited to:

  • Establishing, implementing and monitoring all department policies, procedures, standards and programs within the guidelines of the facility, conditions of participation, and standards of the profession(s).
  • Ensuring that staffing levels are adequate for department needs \xe2\x80\x93 to include hiring, promoting, disciplining and terminating staff.
  • Ensuring staff have the tools and resources to provide safe, efficient, and quality health care.
  • Encouraging ongoing staff development and professional growth.
  • Developing, administering and overseeing budgets for assigned departments.
  • Setting the tone and expectations for positive customer service.
  • Responding to state survey findings in a proactive, positive and problem solving manner that ensure deficiencies are addressed and/or interventions are in place to ensure compliance.
  • Assisting with the resolution of conflicts that arise with patients, staff, department managers, senior leaders.
  • Providing input on strategic decisions that affect the functionality and overall success of FRHS.
  • Exhibiting behaviors that are consistent with the mission, vison and values of FRHS.
  • Maintains working relationships with community agencies.
  • Collaborates with other departments to provide resolution to escalated issues arising from operations.

Education, Experience & Expectations
  • Four or more years of ambulatory or outpatient pharmacy experience.
  • Strong communication, organizational, prioritizing, and follow-through skills
  • Knowledge of laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, rehab and rural health clinic workflows.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn programs such as Windows and Excel.
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records \xe2\x80\x93 experience with EPIC preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • Inherent potential for contact with blood, body fluids or tissues.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Exerting 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Must be able to walk or stand for extended intervals.
