Job Summary

Reporting to the Executive Director of Principal & Major Gifts & Grants, the (Senior) Director of Development, Board of Fellows and Volunteer Engagement will be charged with four core responsibilities (below). The position will be a key member of the Principal & Major Gifts & Grants unit; share responsibility for the unit\'s annual revenue and engagement goals; and partner closely with HMS AAD leadership, HMS faculty and administrative leadership, and key partners across HU AAD. Although this is not a frontline fundraising position, candidates should have material experience and certain success independently managing top donors through the cycle of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. The position requires a highly collaborative partner who is exceptionally organized, planful, and communicative-and someone who is capable, comfortable, and adept at supporting, not leading, individual prospect strategies.

At present, the HMS AAD Office operates a hybrid working schedule (remote, in-person)-the PMGG unit requires a minimum of one day per week in the office for focused regular meetings; this role should anticipate 2-3 days per week in-office; during two busy seasons (typically September/October; March/April) prior to Board & Council meetings, in-office days will exceed 3 days per week. Requirements for in-person vs. remote work schedules remain at the discretion of management and may change to best achieve AAD\'s role in the service of the School\'s mission.

The PMGG unit, and each individual team member, has among their annual performance expectations a commitment to engender a culture of empowerment, interdependence, growth mindset, psychological safety, leadership, and belonging across a diverse team. Candidates who cannot meet and embrace that expectation should not apply.

Commitment to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging

We are committed to cultivating an inclusive workplace culture of faculty, staff, and students with diverse backgrounds, styles, abilities, and motivations. We appreciate and leverage the capabilities, insights, and ideas of all individuals.
