What You Will Do The Area Vice President will be responsible for directing the development of sales plans, strategies, objectives, policies, and procedures for the Western U.S. in alignment with the Spine divisional objectives. They will drive area talent strategy, talent selection, and engagement activities. Can live anywhere in the Central or Western US.
  • Work closely with other functional leaders to develop and recommend short- and long-range objectives - consistent with Stryker and divisional guidelines - around vision, mission, market strategy, customer intelligence, voice of the customer, product, pricing, and business planning.
  • Meet with and build long-term, stable relationships with key surgeons, clinicians, and evaluators to drive product innovation, clinical studies completion and medical education.
  • Manage a multi-geographical sales force involved in end-to-end fulfillment of customer needs and expectations.
  • Achieve/exceed sales targets for the business unit, including total sales, percent growth, dollar growth, market share, etc.
  • Direct financial accountability for agencies and directs, and expenses
  • Responsible for pricing and contract management. Manage agent, directs, and branch manager contracts at accounts. Assist in preparing and managing pricing/contract requests. Manage price trends across businesses (Complex, Degen, MIS).
  • Identifying new agent and direct opportunities
  • Oversees and directs area sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly. Implements a player/coach approach to direct the sales representative to deliver at the tactical level from strategy.
  • Oversees and directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop the sales program for the area to achieve corporate goals.
  • Directs development activity and coordinates area\xe2\x80\x99s sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
  • Represents company at trade association meetings to promote products.
  • Assists other departments within organization to prepare manuals, technical publications, instruments, and product improvements.
  • Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
  • Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.
What You Need
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Business, Marketing or related field of study required
  • MBA or other advanced business degree preferred
  • 10+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in business roles with increasing responsibility; healthcare or medical devices preferred
  • Demonstrated direct selling experience; inclusive of consultative selling in medical device preferred
  • Demonstrated track record developing and managing a business or business plan and effectively managing assets
  • Prefer previous experience working in a collaborative selling environment
  • Demonstrated leadership talents and experience
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence senior corporate leaders, sales leadership, surgeon/administration customers and internal Stryker organizations
  • Proven ability to attract, engage and develop leadership talent, as well as engage talent across a dispersed employee group
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues of a broad scope using independent judgement and solid attention to detail.
  • Must be able to influence key surgeons and decision makers, as well as potential key talent being recruited to Stryker.
  • Must be able to effectively manage multiple conflicting priorities in fast-paced environment.
  • Travel required within area, and to national/area sales meetings and conventions.
$162,000 - $359,000 salary plus bonus eligible + generally eligible for short-term and long-term financial incentives. This information reflects the anticipated salary range for this position based on current national data. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
