The Dyslexia Center of Utah has been tutoring students for over 26 years using our exclusive Orton-Gillingham, Science of Reading program. We currently serve more than 285 students across five locations and are looking for dedicated tutors to join our South Jordan or Woods Cross tutoring teams.

Mandatory Training
- mid January 2026
Applicants must be available for the full 5 weeks of training.
Time off is not permitted for academic, personal, or scheduling conflicts.
If training conflicts with your schedule, please apply at a later date.
Background check upon hire

Schedule
Tutors must commit to 2 years after training.
Choose ONE part time schedule/location:
South Jordan
Tues & Thurs:
12:30 PM - 5:45 PM
Additional Details:
Year-round tutoring (summer included)
We follow the school district calendar for breaks and national holidays
Not paid when the center is closed
Paid if a student is absent
Additional stipend provided for tutoring 10+ sessions in a day
Must keep schedule open for at least 7 students
Non-compete tutoring agreement required

Compensation
Training Pay: $17/hr
Tutoring Pay After Training: $20-$32 per 45-min session
Group Tutoring (2 students): +$15 per session
Pay Raise available upon certification in our exclusive OG program Magic of Reading

Responsibilities
Tutor students using our multisensory Orton-Gillingham curriculum (training provided)
Create a fun, positive learning environment
Communicate regularly with parents regarding progress
Advocate for dyslexia awareness in the community
Participate in DCU fundraising events
Work both independently and with a supportive team

Qualifications
Preferred:
Elementary or Secondary Education degree
OR equivalent experience working with children
Required Skills & Traits:
Organized, honest, kind, patient, and dependable
Strong written communication skills
Ability to adapt quickly and accept feedback
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Basic proficiency with Zoom, Gmail, and Google Drive
Knowledge of dyslexia or the Orton-Gillingham approach (helpful, not required)
