The Opportunity

This position is a Divisional role, part of the Global Operational Excellence team, working out of our Scarborough, Maine location in the Rapid Diagnostics Division, supporting multiple Maine sites. Our pioneering technology spans the world of healthcare operations \xe2\x80\x94 with medical diagnostic instruments, tests, automation and informatics solutions for hospitals, reference labs, blood centers, emergency departments, physician offices and clinics.

The roles focus is to Lead and Support site Operational Excellence journeys and to be part of the Global BU OPEX team, focusing on shared learnings and opportunities. Supporting colleagues in project work by setting goals, objectives, and roadmaps for improvement through a Vision that engages people in developing themselves and their environment. Aligning the Corporate Principles and Values, into appropriate daily Behaviours at every level to contribute to instilling high performance, that demonstrates people development, in an environment of Trust and Respect.

Working for the Global BU OPEX Senior Leader, focusing on key opportunities effecting site performance and having a strong alignment with Site Operations Directors, ensuring effective support that enables the site to grow and develop to be a benchmarked world class business excellence facility.

As the Six Sigma Program Manager, you will provide leadership in process improvements across all departments, by collaborating with others; articulating ideas and viewpoints to senior management, peers and others; identifying and initiating change and improvements to the ways of working. This role is responsible for the development and execution of lean processes to drive department-wide efficiency and productivity, e.g. through automation and process improvement. Actively utilising and developing others in the use of lean Six Sigma, Shingo, change management Systems and methodologies to ensure business success, for example: Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, DMAIC, OEE to Embed lean thinking and OPEX principles across all levels within the Process departments in a systematic way. Support the development and implementation of a site Opex Roadmap that captures the appropriate Tools, Systems, Behaviours and results to enable a winning engaged culture aligned with the Principles of the Global OPEX Strategy. Ensuring a customer-focused culture at the plant, including, supporting the development of new products and technologies.

What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Work On
  • Developing a Roadmap for Operational Excellence across the Maine sites, capturing all areas and functions to ensure alignment and commitment that develops teams and future opportunities.
  • Training and developing people in Six Sigma, to ensure effective skills aligned with the Management Operating System.
  • Daily management of the Continuous Improvement projects and its associated training modules.
  • Creation of value through the delivery of Lean tools such as 8 wastes, GEMBA, 6S, standard working, visual management, practical problem solving, teamwork, VSM, OEE and SMED.
  • Identifies areas for process improvement, and defines and implements solutions, liaising with other stakeholders such as Project Owners, functional managers and senior management as appropriate, and support the site to find savings and affordability opportunities.
  • Drives identification of opportunities through effective use of Data Analytics.
  • Enables a System structure that is developed to align and support the organization with a constancy of purpose.
  • Creation of a safe environment through good manufacturing practices, training and standardization. Attendance and contribution to the Management / Operations Team meetings in continuous improvement activities Leads project planning, scheduling, monitoring and reporting of projects.
  • Confirms the ongoing strategic rationale and value proposition for projects.
  • Drives for resolution in cross-functional problem solving, communication, and integration.
  • Liaises with other Project Owners, functional managers, and management to prioritize activities across programs to balance resource availability, program deliverables and schedule, and business needs.
  • Establishes a true sense of engagement through Systems & platforms that demonstrate appropriate behaviors and leadership.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree Electrical/mechanical engineering, material science, or related engineering field
  • Minimum 8 years related experience, supporting manufacturing and support functions
  • Six Sigma Black Belt

The base pay for this position is $102,700.00 \xe2\x80\x93 $205,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
