Northern Star has a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Site Services Coordinator to manage the site services contracts and other site works and events at our world-class Pogo Operation. This position will report to the General Manager. This opportunity is offered on a 15 days on, 13 days off work roster at our remote camp site near Delta Junction, Alaska.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Manage site services including camp services (food services/housekeeping) and transportation contracts, providing auditing and maintenance of standards. Liaise with employees on their experiences with these services and provide feedback and guidance to contractors
  • Participate in the bid processes for site support contracts, including food service/housekeeping, bus and other site transportation.
  • Chair projects such as the Pogo Social Club, Family Day, and other onsite activities such as Corporate/Investor/Community Site Visits among others, ensuring their successful planning, execution and evaluation.
  • Supervise and train the Administrative Team and provide support and guidance as needed.
  • Provide INX and other administrative support for the NSR OHS and NSR Training team, including assistance with development of training media for inductions and ongoing training material.
  • Oversee and undertake site branding and assist with improvement of employee camp services (signs, TVs, notice boards, gym, furniture, recreation rooms, lighting, etc). Focus on improving living conditions, personnel communication / engagement and employee services.
  • Review existing processes related to site access, administrative procedures and other areas. Identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, effectiveness and cost optimization and upon approval, lead efforts to achieve them.
  • Focus on continuous improvement of site services through surveys, interactions with employees and regular audits. Create and implement plans for improvement in collaboration with Site Services Contractors.
Required skills and experience:
  • High School Diploma
  • Previous contract and project management experience in the resources sector, preferably on a remote site.
  • Experience in managing and directing the work of others.
  • Excellent understanding of office processes, systems (INX) and equipment.
  • Experience in creating and analyzing complex data and presenting with context to expanded audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced experience with document editing (grammar, formatting) and graphics production (visual aids, posters, notices)
  • Advanced computer literacy - Microsoft Office suite, database systems including INX, Pronto, etc. Advanced skills in Excel and Power Point are particularly important in this role.
  • Ability to coordinate, share and complete tasks, responsibilities with other onsite groups to efficiently achieve objectives.
