About the position: This position will be assigned to the Short-Term (Teddy\'s) Child Watch at David Grant Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base, CA.

Intermittent (Flexible) employees have no guaranteed hours but may work up to 40 hours per week.

Eligible to use base facilities such as Base Exchange (BX), Gym, Outdoor Rec, Library, Marina, Golf Course, Bowling Center and the Arts & Crafts Center.

Duties
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operational control of the Short-Term Child Watch Program, (Teddy\'s Child Watch) at David Grant Medical Center, Travis AFB, CA.
  • Oversees the job performance of the Short-Term Child Watch Volunteer Trainer/Recruiter to ensure there is a sufficient number of volunteers for the program who are qualified and properly trained. Monitors performance of the volunteer child watch services provided to ensure the services comply with established procedural guidelines and regulations.
  • Prepares annual job performance appraisals for the Short-Term (Teddy\'s) Child Watch Volunteer Trainer/Recruiters, as well as providing them with mid-year reviews.
  • Reports to Child & Youth Program Services Flight Chief.
  • Communicate with squadron and flight leadership with regard to all administrative matters or operational issues related to services provided under the Short-Term Child Watch Program in (DGMC).
  • Also responsible for supervising children if there is a shortage of volunteers.
  • Displays a pleasant, friendly attitude and manner with visitors, co-workers, volunteers and supervisors while maintain a healthy and productive work environment IAW regulatory guidelines.
  • As a P-Card holder, responsible for providing an approved purchase request and making purchases for the activity.

  • This position requires satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with Air Force and DoD policy, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
  • This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical.
  • This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain, maintain, and provide evidence of current immunizations this includes annual influenza vaccinations and be free of all communicable diseases.
  • This position requires the incumbent to complete assigned training, to include Food Handlers certification, within specified time from date hire or assignment to position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Must possess a minimum of a Bachelor\'s Degree in Human Services, Psychology, Education or a related field and a minimum of two years experience in a managerial position. Must possess maturity and good judgment, as well as like working with children/youth and their parents. Must have excellent written and oral communications skills. Must be able to lift 40 lbs or more and stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods of time.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
