Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Develops, designs, evaluates, and/or modifies systems consistent with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Responsibilities include optimization and support of complex communication systems.
  • Provide technical support of specialized systems and product applications including troubleshooting of software driven electronics, provisioning of communication system infrastructure and performance optimization of RF and Broadband architecture including, but not limited to, legacy analog, advanced digital P25 and data infrastructure.
  • Program, configure, optimize, test and document complex communications systems.
  • Resolve escalated technical issues with speed and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to resolve technical concerns.
  • Provide weekly reports of activities and resolutions to customers.
  • Manage, schedule, track, and develop reports on: network infrastructure upgrades, Linux and Windows security patching, preventive maintenance, incident management, SLA and customer escalations.
  • Responsible for delivering the contractual scope, on schedule and within budget, while maintaining customer satisfaction.
Preferred Candidate Qualifications:
  • Must have very strong knowledge of wired communications systems, such as local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN), must be proficient in computer network installation, configuration and maintenance systems to include cabling, routers, switches, firewalls and bridges.
  • Must be capable of installation of server hardware/OS and software infrastructure and troubleshooting to resolve system/application related issues.
  • Must have knowledge of R.F. systems, such as transmitters, receivers, and antenna networks.
  • Must have knowledge in standard telephony and dedicated data circuits, as well as knowledge of packet switching techniques.
  • Must be highly computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
  • Must have strong self-management skills and "people" skills to work closely with Motorola\xe2\x80\x99s customers and subcontractor (MSS) community, as well as Motorola Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and customer service teams.
  • Must be self-motivated and self-managed to perform the required duties at a distance from direct supervision.
  • Must be able to solve customer problems quickly during stressful situations.
  • Ability to direct scheduling, task assignments, and training roadmap for a small team of local field service technicians.
  • Experience with logging recording systems, RF interfaces, wired/wireless communications systems and/or Juniper networking equipment.
  • Unique combinations of both multi-site RF communications systems and/or computer/networking skills are required.
  • Must be open to occasional escalation management during non-standard business hours.
This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice\'s "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.

Projected Salary Range - $110K - $120K

Basic Requirements
  • Minimum of Bachelor\'s Degree and 6+ years of Systems Engineering experience OR a Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree and 4+ years of Systems Engineering experience.
  • Candidate must be within commuting distance of the five boroughs of New York City.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
