Position Specific Description

In this role you will directly impact our goal of aggressively growing our renewable asset production in the Northwest across Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. You will be focused on early-stage renewable development, working in a matrixed organization of subject matter experts throughout the company. You will be given the opportunity to be an active part of leading the charge in community engagement, site identification and evaluation, early-stage project permitting, and business development efforts that directly impact NextEra Energy\'s bottom line.

Beyond the requirements below, you will also be responsible for presenting your updates and findings to Development leadership, and also providing your thoughts and input on a daily basis to make for a collaborative and dynamic team. You will travel across our various sites and be given the chance to dive into the process and progression of new projects. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in renewable energy project development and experience leading project management and/or development teams across wind, solar, and energy storage. Preferred qualifications are:

  • Experience with siting renewable generation projects
  • Experience with early stage development of renewable generation projects
  • Experience with land acquisition and real estate contracts
  • Experience with ESRI ArcGIS software, or similar land analysis tools
Job Overview

Employees in this role develop and execute plans for new and enhanced generation projects. This job is responsible for resource allocation, schedules, cost and technical adequacy, ensuring the project or transaction is completed in the most cost effective and competitive manner. This position manages all aspects of the business deal and ensures the project is completed on time and within budgetary constraints.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manages all aspects of the day to day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost effective and competitive result
  • Leads and coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations
  • Responsible for managing multiple and complex projects
  • Coordinates due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects
  • Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection
  • Constructs contractual arrangements for project development
  • Negotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractors
  • Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements
  • Fosters external relationships with customers, third parties and members of the community
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor\'s Degree or Equivalent Experience

The base pay for this position is $113,600.00 to $170,400.00 per year. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.
