The Department of Technology & Enterprise Business Solutions (TEBS), Office of Strategic Partnerships, supports innovation by bridging the gap between County departmental business partners and technology solution providers to accomplish quick and agile solutions that address longstanding technological or work-processes facing departments.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Montgomery County is looking for a Senior Information Technology Specialist who can lead new and existing IT projects using acquired management skills and techniques. In addition, the Senior Information Technology Specialist will be responsible for providing daily and long-term support and administration for Enterprise Systems under the Enterprise Services Team.

The candidate will be responsible for:

  • Records Management System Administration, Security, and Configurations
  • Cloud Based File System Administration and Management
  • Enterprise Power BI Development/Support
  • Project Management- Leading IT projects and migrations such as: Enterprise Crystal Reports to Power BI Migration, On-Prem File Server Migration to a Cloud Solution
  • Assist with Internal/External Hybrid and In-person events throughout the county and departments
  • Provide IT Support to high-level management departments such as the County Executive Office
The position will require a hybrid work schedule and flexibility including some after-hours work, if necessary, to meet customer requirements. The County and TEBS support teleworking in accordance with County-wide and TEBS specific telework policies and procedures.

The candidate will report to the manager of the Enterprise Services Team. A criminal background and credit history check will be conducted on the selected candidates prior to appointment and will be a significant factor in the hiring decision.

Minimum Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with a minimum of Five (5) years of professional experience for each position in the following Information Technology (IT) areas:
  • IT Project Management
  • Cloud Application Support and Administration
  • Working with high-level management users and projects
  • Power Platform Technology Experience
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor\'s degree in Information Systems or related field that provided a strong foundation in the field of assignment.

An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the degree or experience.

Preferred Criteria

Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with experience in these areas are strongly desired.
  • Azure File Storage and Routine Support
  • Power BI Management and Report Writing
  • In-depth experience with MS O365/SharePoint Administration
  • Leading IT projects
Preferred Criteria:

The applications of those individuals meeting the minimum qualifications will be reviewed to determine the extent, relevancy of training, and experience in the following areas:
  • Experience with cloud-based applications and technologies
  • Skilled in agile project management methodology
  • End-User engagements and high-level management support
  • Experience with Records Management implementations and/or administration
