Senior Financial Analyst Working Capital

Job Description


SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for analyzing cash and working capital performance. This position requires the ability to understand the processes impacting cash and working capital, and to identify and implement improvements that lead to increased efficiency and accuracy. This position will have regular interaction and engagement with other internal and external stakeholders to provide meaningful short-term and long-term forecasting and reporting results and analysis. This position is also responsible for oversight and monitoring of North American Accounts Receivable and related analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working Capital

  • Prepare and analyze monthly cash movements and working capital results
  • Develop, define and track working capital KPIs, distributing to management with highlights of trends and/or issues
  • Identify drivers of working capital variances and define initiatives for improvement
  • Build and enhance working capital forecast models for use in rolling annual forecasts as well as 5-year planning process
  • Ensure alignment on cash and working capital forecasts with FP&A and the wider business
  • Actively involved in company projects focused on improving cash and working capital
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of North America cash forecast
  • Serve as an effective business partner with railroads, regions, and other internal departments for working capital analysis
  • Support month-end and year-end close process with working capital analysis
Accounts Receivable
  • Monitor consolidated receivables and aging accounts
  • Identify areas of risk concentration and trending of aging
  • Coordinate monthly Credit Watch reports
  • Coordinate the preparation of quarterly \xe2\x80\x9ctargets for past due accounts\xe2\x80\x9d reports
  • Review of consolidated aged receivables/validation of reserves - R24.3
  • Accounts Receivable flux analysis
  • Preparation of Accounts Receivable Rollforward
  • CECL calculations and compliance
REQUIRED SKILLS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Comfortable interacting with all levels of management
  • Strong computer skills, across multiple systems; knowledge of Microsoft applications, including excel. Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting financial data and in the generation of reports
  • Ability to think strategically and support business objectives
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR CREDENTIALS:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in business, finance, or accounting
  • A minimum of five years of related experience; multinational company experience preferred
  • MBA and/or CTP designation desired
