This position may be located in Carey, NC, Silvis, IL, Urbandale, Iowa, and Fargo, ND. This may be dependent on the successful candidate\'s background, experience, and proficiency.

This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule arrangement at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer for Deere & Company World Headquarters located in Cary, NC, Silvis, IL, Fargo, ND, or Urbandale, IA you will:

• Provide technical leadership and guidance for the software developers and collaborate with platform software groups as a technical advisor
• Perform embedded systems engineering tasking including requirements analysis, operational concept development, software system design/architecture, component integration, design reviews, integration testing and problem solving
• Develop embedded operating system software for vehicle controllers in C
• Assign, coordinate, and review work from other engineers and support personnel. Mentor engineers within the team on embedded software work
• Analyze issues and drive for resolution of issues found during lab and field testing

What Skills You Need

• 4+ years of demonstrated proficiency in embedded software development using the following skills: C/C++ programming language
• Demonstrated leadership capability and project management skills.
• Strong technical skills in the areas of software development, hardware integration, and electrical systems.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Strong, demonstrated problem solving skills
• Ability to work in a self-directed environment and mentor fellow engineers

What Makes You Stand Out

• Technical experience relating to design and diagnostics of mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems
• Experience developing low level and middleware drivers for hardware peripherals
• Experience with CAN communications protocols such as the automotive ethernet, J1939 and ISO 14229 standards
• Experience with AUTOSAR and John Deere proprietary operating systems
• Proficiency with simulation, plant model creation/integration and modeling tools (MATLAB/Simulink)

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

• Degree in an Engineering/Technology/Science discipline or equivalent experience.
