Program Role

Engine Build Up (EBU) Systems Design

Role Summary Purpose

In this role, you will lead the establishment of expertise in designing and integrating Engine Build Up (EBU) systems. The EBU systems provide the interface between the aircraft engine and airframe. This typically includes hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, fire detection, fuel, and bleed air systems, the associated control valves, system routings, and attaching brackets necessary for system mounting.

Essential Responsibilities

\xc2\xb7 Provide leadership and technical direction to ensure that EBU systems and components meet technical and program requirements in accordance with business standards, practices, and procedures.

\xc2\xb7 Serve as the subject matter expert for the design and analysis for all system components, including ducts, tubes, brackets, valves, harnesses, etc.

\xc2\xb7 Define and develop product processes related to design, analysis, test, materials, manufacture, quality and/or productivity.

\xc2\xb7 Lead technical team in performing Root Cause and Corrective Action investigations on events occurring in fleet of fielded hardware.

\xc2\xb7 Effectively communicate with the engineering program manager to:

o Identify need for technical and program reviews within the organization.

o Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical and program requirements.

o Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems.

\xc2\xb7 Participate in technical reviews and provide counsel to team on design practices and standards.

\xc2\xb7 Review and approve engineering change packages, including part definition and change substantiation.

\xc2\xb7 Provide technical inputs to cost out projects and associated reviews. Requirements:

\xc2\xb7 Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 15 years of experience in the field of Engineering.

\xc2\xb7 A minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering position related to the design of hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, electrical, fire detection systems, and/or valve systems.

Desired Characteristics

\xc2\xb7 A minimum of 8 years of experience in an engineering position related to the design of hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, electrical, fire detection systems, and/or valve systems

\xc2\xb7 Proficient with Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools and processes. Ability to generate 3D models, including hose, duct, and wire routings. (CATIA V5 preferred)

\xc2\xb7 Ability to create and interpret product design documentation, including 2D drawings using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5

\xc2\xb7 Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to lead small teams
  • Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact
  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
  • Effective problem identification and solution skills
