Senior Configuration Manager

This involves managing the functional requirements, design, and operational information throughout each product\'s lifecycle. You will also develop migration plans and help oversee deployment. The Senior Configuration Manager is responsible for overseeing the configuration management process of a project or organization. They ensure that software and hardware components are properly identified, tracked, and maintained throughout their lifecycle. A Senior Configuration Manager establishes policies and procedures for configuration management, collaborates with cross-functional teams, and ensures compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. They also manage the tools and systems used in the configuration management process. Applicants should have experience with configuration management tools.

A Senior Configuration Manager will also work in close collaboration with other departments and teams to meet the changing needs of the business. The Senior Configuration Manager has the ability and authority to ensure daily end-to-end delivery of CM services in accordance with the configuration management plan.

Configuration Manager Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute Configuration Management (CM) processes throughout the project lifecycle, including development, migration, deployment, and security
  • Oversee the daily management of configuration items
  • Review migration plans
  • Review and update configuration management processes
  • Ensure that IT staff members follow CM processes
  • Assist in implementing hardware and software version control processes, policies, and procedures
  • Understand basic concepts, and assist in documenting hardware and software configuration management processes and procedures
  • Understand basic concepts, assist in maintaining and developing the environment for hardware and software product build, staging, testing and integration
  • Assist in defining and implementing hardware and software configuration management processes and procedures, such as creating product build scripts and procedures, and integrating those scripts with the hardware and software build process
  • Implement hardware and software version control processes, policies, and procedures
  • Reviewing critical incident outage resolution results and responses and dispositions of failed changes due to issues related to the configuration management system (CMS)
  • Facilitating communication and engaging business and IT management to encourage CM efforts and value propositions
  • Mentoring the organization of CM services, concepts, policies, and procedures
  • Chairing the Change Advisory Board (CAB) Configuration Control Board (CCB) and enacting changes as directed
  • Reviewing and publishing configuration management reporting
WHAT YOU\xe2\x80\x99LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education: Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a focus in business administration or a related field of study; or a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a focus in computer science, engineering, or a related field of study.

Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience in program management and managing/leading multi-functional teams

Required Technical Skills:
  • PMP preferred
  • Experience scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions
  • Experience in strategic planning, including contributing recommendations with supporting data and preparing and executing action plans
  • Proven proficiency in analyzing, evaluating, and overcoming program risks across multiple project teams
  • Experience managing Government/Military programs
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Security Clearance: TS/SCI required
