JOB DESCRIPTION:



Starting Pay Rate: $78,874 - $98,593/Annually, DOE The Senior Accountant completes a wide variety of complex accounting, financial data processing, and financial reporting functions. This includes general ledger accounting, financial reporting, financial and operations analyses. Mentors and provides support to GL Accountant. Primary Duties, Responsibilities, and Tasks:

  • Responsible for the effective handling of accounting records in compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Reconciles assigned balance sheet accounts, including streamlining balance sheet reconciliations and expense analysis schedules.
  • Produces assigned journal entries to record enterprise transactions and ensures proper reconciliation with supporting documentation.
  • Responsible for month end closing assignments.
  • Responsible for the research and completion of financial and operations analyses.
  • Responsible for interfacing with appropriate internal and external departments, agencies, and companies to ensure accuracy of financial records.
  • Receives, collects, balances, and verifies computer accounting data for completeness and accuracy.
  • Maintains awareness for discrepancies or suspicious circumstances and investigates as required.
  • Mentors General Ledger Accountant and other accounting clerical personnel, including training and problem resolution.
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism and integrity while observing the highly confidential nature of the position.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:




Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Business Administration, emphasis in Accounting or equivalent degree required.
  • Five years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in general ledger accounting.
  • Experience in a senior level position within the Accounting field preferred.
  • Experience in financial reporting required.
  • Advanced knowledge of general business and accounting systems and methods.
  • Knowledge of applicable law, regulations, rules, procedures, and administration is required.
  • NetSuite experience preferred but not necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook), and internet research skills with advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
  • Native American hiring preference applies.

Working Conditions:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is occasionally exposed to tobacco smoke, moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
  • The Team Member is usually subject to inside environmental conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes.
  • The Team Member is occasionally subject to outside environmental conditions and to wet and/or humid conditions.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
