Responsible for the successful overall daily operations of the security department, in accordance with existing casino policies/procedures, SOP's, MIC's, TIC's as well as guidelines set forth by the General Manager. The Security Manager will be responsible for ensuring the Security department and staff is in compliance with State/Federal/Tribal policy and procedures, regulations, and laws.
Essential Functions of the Position
Ensures Thunderbird quality customer service and cheerful atmosphere is maintained in your department
Make good and proper decisions that reflect positively on you and the Casino
Performs all supervisory responsibilities associated with security
Manage and supervise department employees and schedules
Ensure payroll is completed in a timely manner
Responsible for hiring, training, counseling and disciplining employees as needed
Maintains departmental budget and obtains approval for purchases
Maintain departmental inventory and supplies
Maintain Key Watcher system and work with Compliance on reporting
Make suggestions and recommendations, as appropriate, for the internal security of operations and departments
Ensure the quality of operations and enforce performance standards in the department
Maintain proper compliance at all times, including Title 31 training
Operate in accordance with existing policies/procedures
Implement a strategy for the protection of life and property of the casino
Authorizes security clearance and/or access to sensitive areas and the department
Complete investigations conducted by the security department as needed
Assist guests and direct them to safe areas in times of emergencies
Responsible planning and conducting safety committee meetings
Routinely tours and inspects the casino and property identifying potential safety hazards and reports to the appropriate person for resolution
Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with management, staff and co-workers
Maintain a pleasant and professional attitude
Remain current on all training required within the department and the casino
Maintain high levels of confidentiality at all time to protect employees and the organization
Other duties as assigned or requested by management
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledgeable of Federal/state/Tribal Employment laws and regulations.
Knowledge of the operation of a variety of computer software, including word processing, and spreadsheet applications.
Knowledge and experience with budget preparation and a variety of financial reports.
Knowledge of general management principles and practices.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, facilitation, conflict and mediation skills.
Ability to research, collect data and present reports.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, as well as members of the community.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Direct supervisory responsibilities for the Security Department.
Physical Demands
Required to walk, stand, sit and move about the property for long periods of time. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
Indoor/Outdoor; exposure to external environmental conditions.
Exposure to smoking and secondhand smoke.
Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays and 40-45 hours per week.
Noise level can range from minimal to intense.
Minimum Qualifications
Associates degree in management (or equivalent combination of education and experience combined).
Three to five (3-5) years management/supervisor experience required.
One (1) years casino experience preferred.
One (1) year security experience preferred.
CLEET Certification may be required.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Must be able to a drug screen.
Must be able to pass a background check and obtain a key gaming license.
