Job Overview

We are seeking a vigilant and dedicated School Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors within our educational environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a secure campus, preventing unauthorized access, and responding effectively to emergencies. This role requires a professional with strong observational skills, conflict management abilities, and relevant security experience to foster a safe learning atmosphere.

Responsibilities

Monitor school premises through surveillance systems such as CCTV to identify suspicious activities or security breaches. Conduct regular patrols of school grounds, entrances, and common areas to deter misconduct and ensure safety protocols are followed. Respond promptly to incidents or emergencies, including medical situations, conflicts, or security threats. Enforce school policies related to safety, access control, and loss prevention measures. Assist in managing access points by verifying identities and controlling entry to the campus. Provide first aid and CPR when necessary to address medical emergencies until professional help arrives. Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during investigations or incidents requiring external support. Maintain detailed incident reports and documentation of daily activities related to campus security. Support conflict management efforts by mediating disputes and de-escalating tense situations professionally.

Requirements

Prior experience in law enforcement, military service, security, or related fields is highly desirable. Certifications in first aid and CPR are preferred; willingness to obtain these certifications is required if not already held. Knowledge of surveillance systems such as CCTV and loss prevention techniques is advantageous. Strong conflict management skills with the ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends if needed. Excellent observational skills with attention to detail in monitoring activities on campus. Valid security license or certification as required by local regulations (if applicable). Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and commitment to student safety. Pay: $23.64 - $28.47 per hour
