Job Description


The Sales Manager is responsible for creating and managing strong business relationships with new and existing accounts to optimize customer value and drive sales growth in the Eastern U.S. Region. This is a critical role for the growth of the Company, which comes both from key account expansion and developing sales networks in existing accounts. To be successful in this role, the Sales Manager must coordinate and lead productive field sales activities to achieve optimized sales and profit performance as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage strategies to drive sustainable business growth.
  • Develop and maintain key accounts to ensure successful long-term relationships.
  • Grow key product line sales by developing and managing a robust opportunity pipeline to meet or exceed sales budget.
  • Provide detailed and accurate sales and budget forecasting.
  • Work closely with Marketing to establish successful channel partner programs.
  • Develop and maintain competence in company product line and competitors\' products.
  • Coordinate with Marketing and Tech Services functions to develop and deliver sales presentations on benefits and features of the company\'s products.
  • Present and promote products to customers and prospects to optimize user value and maximize profitable sales.
  • Participate in relevant marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and remote meetings.
  • Collaborate with internal functions (sales, marketing operations, supply chain, research, and finance) to maximize sustainable business growth.
  • Keep up to date on new trends in the industry and help devise and implement new and innovative ways to market Company products and services.
  • Provide product training to distributor sales employees (independent reps and direct distributor employees).
  • Communicate effectively through internal corporate procedures to process timely sales orders and develop, modify, or add products for new or existing customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Animal Science, Ag Business, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 yrs. of proven sales results of Animal Nutrition and/or Animal Health products and solutions, with strong understanding of markets served.
  • Comprehensive understanding of animal nutrition and production, including technical components and key economic drivers.
  • Ability to negotiate and close new business.
  • Demonstrates strong sales and new business development skills.
  • Experience following a disciplined sales process.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong business relationships with nutritionists, producers, feed mills, distributors, and other key industry participants.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, CRM software, etc.)

  • Strong marketing experience with the ability to develop and deliver presentations to audiences with varied levels of knowledge.
  • Clean driving record and the ability to travel a minimum of 20%
Compensation details: 110000-130000 Yearly Salary
