George T. Sanders Co. is Colorado\'s largest independent supplier of plumbing and heating products with 18 locations in Colorado and 2 locations in Wyoming. Our corporate office is located in Wheat Ridge, CO.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY

Develop and maintain a culture of safety across all company locations. Design, develop and maintain a safety program, fleet management program, and assist with branch and facility management.

JOB DUTIES

• Conduct regularly scheduled inspections of all company locations to assess compliance with all OSHA policies; create and manage a company safety plan adhering to best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure the proper operation of company equipment and overall safety of the employee work environment.
• Maintain all safety records including fire safety, vehicle safety, and crane inspection records.
• Develop and coordinate safety training.
• Coordinate and consolidate all safety related operations and ensure that all maintenance is being performed regularly.
• Conduct regularly scheduled inspections to assess the overall cleanliness and organization of each GTS facility and address any issues that may exist; ensure all material is stored safely in an organized fashion.
• Develop and maintain operating requirements for company equipment including trucks, trailers, forklifts, cranes, and cleaning equipment.
• Keep complete, updated, and detailed record of company vehicles and drivers including Department of Transportation (DOT) records.
• Oversee the company vehicle fleet, including procurement and decommissioning of vehicles; ensure that vehicles are being cleaned, repaired, and maintained.
• Oversee the use of all fleet and security software companywide.
• Ensure that proper security services and systems are in place and functional to protect company assets and employees.
• Oversee reporting to local authorities in the event of theft or other criminal activity.
• Meet annually with third party insurance company to review coverage and discuss best practices for creating a safe work environment.
• Assists with the coordination of workers\' compensation claims and reports the status of all outstanding claims monthly.
• Fleet management program of cost and maintenance for all company trucks.
• Warehouse equipment purchases - forklifts, order pickers, and racking or shelving
• Landscaping and snow removal services.
• Facility operations including lighting, utilities, trash pickup, recycling, and scrap disposal; office/branch/warehouse supplies.

Requirements:

CRITICAL SKILLS

• 3 - 5 years of facility/safety/fleet experience
• Strong project management skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate and gain cooperation throughout the organization
• Bachelor\'s degree preferred
