Registered Nurse (RN)

to serve as our

Unit Manager

. This role is essential to ensuring high-quality clinical care, regulatory compliance, and a positive environment for both residents and staff. Skilled nursing and/or Acute supervisory experience preferred



Position Overview:



The Unit Manager oversees the daily operations of the nursing unit, ensuring residents receive compassionate, person-centered care. This leadership role partners closely with the Director of Nursing and interdisciplinary team to maintain excellence 24/7 in the skilled nursing setting.

Key Responsibilities:



Leadership & Administrative Duties



Direct day-to-day operations of the nursing unit and ensure adherence to state, federal, and local regulations. Develop, update, and maintain nursing policies, procedures, and care programs. Participate in regulatory surveys, quality assurance programs, and corrective action planning. Audit charts, ensure accurate documentation, and oversee physician orders and follow-through. Assign staffing for all shifts and ensure new staff receive thorough unit orientation.

Nursing Care & Clinical Oversight



Conduct daily rounds; monitor medications, treatments, and resident conditions. Review nursing notes for accuracy and ensure documentation meets standards. Promote regulatory compliance, documentation accuracy, and survey readiness Skin and change (vitals) of condition management Greet and welcome new admissions; ensure smooth transition and room readiness. Provide direct nursing care as needed and support staff in managing resident care.

Staff Management & Development



Assist with recruitment, hiring, evaluations, coaching, and corrective action. Provide ongoing training, orientation, and in-service education. Ensure all nursing staff maintain valid licensure and follow professional standards. Promote teamwork, clear communication, and a positive work environment. All other functions delegated by DON and Administrator

Resident Rights & Advocacy



Ensure resident dignity, privacy, and rights are upheld at all times. Monitor for concerns and promptly address, document, and communicate issues. Encourage resident and family participation in care planning.

Safety, Compliance & Operations



Support infection control practices, safety procedures, and emergency protocols. Ensure cleanliness of work areas and resident spaces. Monitor equipment, supplies, and inventory; assist with budgeting planning. Participate in facility committees and provide leadership support when DON is absent.

Required Qualifications



Active and current California Registered Nurse (RN) license

Skilled nursing and/or Acute supervisory experience preferred

Willing to work the floor if needed

At least

18 years of age

Strong ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, hospital, or related healthcare setting Knowledge of rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices Understanding of federal and state long-term care regulations Compassion for and dedication to serving elderly residents

Physical Requirements



Walking, bending, lifting, grasping, and fine motor coordination Ability to distinguish smells, tastes, and temperatures for clinical assessment Ability to communicate clearly and remain calm under pressure

Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour
