Risk Management & Insurance Coordinator

Job Description


Day to day management and coordination of the company\xe2\x80\x99s risk & insurance functions. This position will collaborate with multiple internal stake holders across the company and will be the primary day-to-day liaison in coordinating and managing the group\xe2\x80\x99s program of insurance. The successful candidate will need strong time management, project and process management and detail orientation while also demonstrating a strategic yet practical approach to helping the company minimize and mitigate risk.

Key responsibilities:

  • Onboarding and off boarding clinical providers
  • Management of Risk Education program
  • Request, track and coordinate processing of Certificate of Insurance (COI) request during provider onboarding and annual renewals
  • Facilitate and coordinate all insurance enrollment and related policy material including provider claims history
  • Collect required information for renewals on all insurance line applications
  • Facilitate and coordinate timely termination and notification of provider\xe2\x80\x99s insurance coverage to respective carriers and affiliates
  • In collaboration with credentialing, and medical affairs maintain accurate provider roster
  • Supports the management of the risk and insurance program that includes collecting time sensitive information needed for insurance marketing and renewals,
  • Assists in claims management, processing/reporting procedures for property and auto damage claims
  • Manage Risk Management\xe2\x80\x99s Lost & Found program by coordinating with Patient experience/Nurse managers and team members regarding lost or stolen property claims, and maintaining chain of custody on found items
  • Responsible for processing insurance invoices and allocating expenses for approval
  • Oversee risk education program and ensure provider compliance with training requirements
  • Participate in new employee/provider orientation to risk management, its scope and its protocols

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Healthcare Administration OR a related field (3+ years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree)
  • 2+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in the insurance, risk management industry
  • Ability to meet deadlines on insurance applications while working internally with other departments to gather data in a timely fashion
  • Notary desirable or obtain within first 90 days

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in healthcare desirable
