Golden Valley Electric Association (GVEA) of Fairbanks, AK is looking to hire a full-time Right-of-Way Agent as part of the Engineering Division located in Fairbanks, AK. GVEA is an electric cooperative which maintains 3,261 miles of transmission and distribution lines, 35 substations, and 9 generating facilities. Our system is interconnected with Fort Wainwright, Eielson AFB, Fort Greely, the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, and all of the electric utilities in the Alaska Railbelt, extending from Homer to Fairbanks. Our Right-of-Way Agent perform duties required for the negotiation, acquisition, legal documentation and/or protection of the Association\'s real property rights including mitigation of complaints. Some of their tasks include acquiring easements, agreements, fee ownership, leases, and other property rights, through multiple processes, for the construction, maintenance, access, and expansion of GVEA transmission, distribution & fiber facilities. They also analyze, interpret, and examine existing property rights and easements. The Right-of-Way Agent plays an integral role in GVEA\'s ability to serve the Interior of Alaska in providing reliable electric service at fair and reasonable prices! QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN RIGHT-OF-WAY AGENT

• Associate degree in Business, Engineering, or Communication required.
  • College coursework in Real Property Law, Contract Law, Negotiations, Environmental Contamination, or Basic Surveying preferred.
• Valid Alaska Drivers license is required.
• International Right-of-Way (IR/WA) designation preferred.
• Notary Public
• Three years relevant experience with an electric utility or construction-related firm.
• Relevant personal computing experience indicative of skills sought for this position.
• Experience working with diverse groups of people.
• Experience in mapping, surveying practices/techniques is preferred

Previous work experience in a Cooperative or Electric Utility would be preferred but multiple factors will be taken into consideration. Can you work independently? Are you attentive to detail?
