An Accounting Manager will apply principals of accounting to analyze financial information. This title will report to VP of Accounting to manage accounting operations of responsible accounting area. As an Accounting Manager, you will manages staff level accountants in daily operations, prepares financial reports, work on special projects as needed, create advanced spreadsheets to support summary reports, and resolve problems. This candidate should be able to perform multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and manage many tasks in a short period of time.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Month end Close - Ensures the month end close process is completed timely
  • Financial statement analysis
  • Balance sheet and P&L review
  • Year-end audit responsibilities
  • Operational and HOA budget
  • Other projects necessary to meet the objectives of Resorts Accounting Department
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan, schedule, prioritize and supervise work schedules for those within their work group to ensure that all daily, monthly and yearly goals are timely met. Will address problem situations within work group as needed to maintain a cohesive work environment.

Manages Staff and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization\'s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Must have a Bachelor\'s degree (B.A.or B.S.) from four-year college or university with five years of accounting experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals or technical procedures. Ability to write business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a group of managers. Foreign languages a plus.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Advanced mathematical skills to include strong computer formula writing and creation of macros; complete understanding of financial accounting.

REASONING ABILITY

Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive verity of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
