Position located in Port Aransas, Texas. Only applicants authorized to work in the United States will be considered

Responsibilities


  • Conduct water quality monitoring for the system-wide monitoring program. Duties include equipment calibration, sampling via boat and data entry.

  • Analyze water samples in laboratory for water quality monitoring efforts.

  • Data entry, management and analysis.

  • Conduct information searches and write summary reports.

  • Equipment maintenance and ordering supplies.

  • Work with Coastal Training Program and Stewardship Program to fulfill program goals.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor\'s degree in marine, biological, or environmental sciences, or a closely related field.

  • Boat operating skills and general mechanical aptitude.

  • General knowledge of regional natural resource conservation issues.

  • Strong organizational and computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required)

  • Other related functions as assigned.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in marine or environmental science.

  • Experience with YSI hydrosonde equipment and water quality chemical analyses such as inorganic nutrients and chlorophyll.

  • Familiarity with scientific graphing and statistical programs.

  • Scuba diver certified.


Driving Required
This job requires a class "C" operator\'s driver\'s license. The applicant selected must provide a current three-year driving record from the current state of residence. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).

Salary Range
$40,000+ depending on qualifications
