The USD Sanford School of Medicine, Division of Basic Biomedical Sciences, is seeking candidates for a Research Associate II to provide technical support to the research laboratory of Dr. Xuejun Wang. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral required. Prior experience in record keeping, working with small animals, working with DNA, including genomic DNA extraction and PCR techniques, and experiences in neural behavior tests in rodents is a plus. This is a grant funded position with annual contract renewal contingent upon continuation of funding.

Laboratory skills: Qualified individuals will assume responsibility for general laboratory maintenance.

Computer skills: Computer skills are required (word processing, spreadsheet, data base maintenance); familiarity with spreadsheet/database programs is recommended.

Animal handling: Individual may be involved in the care and handling of laboratory animals, surgical preparation, and surgical assistance.

Qualifications: Bachelor\'s degree in biological sciences or related field and some experience required. Computer skills required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
