The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. This position will be in support of Diagnostics and Surveillance Department within the Directorate of DoD Infectious Diseases located at the Naval Medical Research Center, Silver Spring, MD.
HJF is seeking a Research Associate I or II to perform research and/or development in collaboration with other scientific and technical staff. May exercises technical discretion in the design, execution, and interpretation of experiments that contribute to project strategies. May provide limited guidance to lower-level Research Associates.
Our research activities include the study of the immune response to infectious diseases, as well as the development and evaluation of novel vaccines and therapeutics. We also support large scale immunological surveillance studies monitoring exposure and immune response to viral diseases. Our focus is on vector borne viral diseases such as Dengue as well as on respiratory diseases, including COVID-19.
We are looking for a motivated individual with an interest in immunology and infectious diseases, who is comfortable working in an interdisciplinary environment as part of a team as well as individually. This position provides an excellent opportunity for learning and growth in fields of infectious disease and immunology.
