Position Overview:

Our Research & Development team based in Cambridge, MA is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Associate to join our Formulation team advancing our proprietary technologies in agricultural applications. You will contribute to our efforts to develop and optimize diverse agricultural formulations, including incorporation of active ingredients in plant lipid particles, to support greenhouse and field trials across R&D. You will work closely with project teams to advance our technology development and solve a diverse set of challenges in agriculture.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Support the design and optimization of formulations for active molecule delivery

Support the development of loading/encapsulation/purification strategies for various classes of cargo

Experience with formulation development for agricultural applications (seed, root, and foliar treatments applying CF, DS, ES, GF, FS, LS, EC, EW, GL, GW) is a plus

Familiarity with design of experiments (DoE)

Hands-on experience operating analytical instruments to characterize formulations (e.g., HPLC, DLS, etc.)

Contribute to a dynamic, exciting culture that embraces teamwork and innovation

Present scientific findings in cross-functional project team meetings, write protocols and reports, and document results in electronic laboratory notebooks

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Qualifications:

BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biomaterials Science, Engineering, or related discipline, preferably with relevant laboratory experience in an industrial setting

Knowledge of encapsulation technologies such as emulsions and lipid nanoparticles

Demonstrated knowledge in developing diverse formulations

Experience in delivery of small molecules, nucleic acids, and proteins

Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate across disciplines as part of project-function matrix organization in an industrial setting

Self-motivated and curious with strong desire to learn

Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying technical information in a clear and thorough manner

Execution-focused, team-oriented with an ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
