The Research Assistant will contribute substantively to several major community-based projects at the Institute for Behavioral Health (IBH) pertaining to harm reduction and drug use. In this position you will work closely with the PI (Traci Green) and will be an integral member of a team, assisting in data collection, coordinating field operations, helping to organize and analyze data, and working with the research team to disseminate findings.
You will perform general administration tasks to advance project interests in a timely manner and support project implementation of multiple community based research projects. Core tasks include literature reviews; survey programming and fielding; consenting participants and collecting data; generating internal and external-facing communications (flyers, reports, manuals); supporting and coordinating research projects; assisting with preparations for presentations for local government and community partner meetings; drafting progress reports and public-facing materials. Travel for data collection, trainings and meetings, site visits required.
Key Responsibilities:
Obtain and document consent for research and conduct in field data collection with fidelity to the research study protocol
Create presentations and summaries of data collected by the study team. Prepare descriptive statistical summaries
Conduct project administration activities including tracking deadlines, sending reminders, and ensuring that the project activities and tasks are done in a timely manner. Schedule meetings, take minutes
Assist with presentations for conferences, local government, and community partner meetings; assist with preparation of manuscripts and other project materials
Provide general research support and project tasks as required or assigned.
Travel for data collection, to meetings, trainings, or site visits as needed.
Requirements and qualifications:
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree required
Skilled use of standard computer programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), statistical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R), online survey programming (e.g., Qualtrics), and willing to learn other specialized tools (e.g., bibliographic software, project-specific app).
Limited project work will be led by the candidate, typically with input from the supervisor.
