Job Description



The Research Analyst at Lightcast works with the Higher Education (HE) Consulting team to
produce innovative datasets, data models, visualizations, and reports that answer our clients\xe2\x80\x99 most pressing problems. A successful candidate will bring a passion for finding ways to apply data to solve client problems by developing and bringing to market actionable insights.

Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct quantitative analysis using Lightcast data and other data sources to model and report standard solutions for colleges and universities.
  • Collaborate with team members to conduct quantitative analysis using Lightcast data and other data sources for colleges and universities.
  • Document methodology and findings of the quantitative analyses, with the added ability of simplifying and interpreting the findings to a variety of audiences.
  • Communicate with clients the findings of the analyses, including how to use the findings to make data-driven decisions.
  • Deliver projects punctually, utilizing excellent time management skills while juggling multiple responsibilities.
  • Contribute to positive team culture by participating in team-building activities and being a supportive and empathetic colleague.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong quality assurance skills with attention to detail in both quantitative analyses and technical writing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite with advanced skills in Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to look at the numbers, trends, and data to derive conclusions based on findings.
  • Ability to compose written analyses that explain complex economic concepts in simple terms.

Credentials and Experience

  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Economics or a field with a quantitative and analytic focus, or at least 1-year of experience in performing statistical or economic analysis.
  • Experience making data-driven decisions, preferably for higher education institutions.
